I had my surgery on the 17th July 2006.Told it was a large tough tumour to remove. Post recovery had awful headaches but these subsided once I got home. As a theatre nurse I was terrified when told my diagnosis and the iminent surgery as I knew what it involved. I thought I was getting along O.K. until I had been home for two weeks and I developed a delayed facial palsy. It was horrible mainly because I couldn't close my eye. I knew it would recover in time so wasn't too worried about the palsy but the discomfort of not being able to close my eye was awful. Still have peoblems with it but i closes. Just gets very dry and irritating during the day but guess I will have to live with that. My other problem is my balance. Still tend to topple occassionally. My surgeon said I would be off work 1-3 months but looks like more than 6 months. Wonder if this is the norm.
